Yesterday I drove to Burns Lake with my mom, husband & one of my sons. We were going to be with family & celebrate the life of my cousin Vicky. Although Vicky was my cousin, I did not know her very well. Vicky spent many years of her life in a care home and when I visited family I didn’t see her many times.
Throughout her memorial service I learned a lot about Vicky. She had a sparking demeanour and loved the simple things in life. She had an amazing stuffie collection – I couldn’t believe how many she had and the variety. Vicky had a love for music – she didn’t say many words but she sure could sing. Vicky loved her family & her family loved her. There were many photos of her – all spanned her 52 years of life. When she was a young child – her life expectancy was only until 12 years of age. She definitely surpassed that.
I was honoured and very glad that myself and some of my family were able to attend Vicky’s celebration of life. Reminded me of how complicated life is and how I need to reassess what is important. Thank you Vicky for your special love.
